Ephesians 1:9-10

"And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment -- to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head even Christ." NIV

There is no secret. The mystery is revealed. People ask, what does the future hold. Of course, they are speaking of their own little world of job, money, health. Or maybe they are referring to the U.S. and its political future, or economy, or the health care or education systems. They could even be speaking of the future of the world and fall short of the meaning of this verse.

In the end, all the things we worry and wonder about will be meaningless. When the end of times comes and earth meets heaven, it will only Jesus Christ, crucified and risen. That is all that will matter. Will we continue to focus so much energy on the temporal and never place our eyes on the eternal? God, help us.

Further Thoughts:
1. What is it all going to boil down to? (Read Revelation 19-22 - It is the last "chapter" of this world. Pause at the end of Ch. 20 and pray for those you know who need to know Jesus.)
2. So where should my focus be? (Read Mark 12:28-31 [command] and Matthew 28:19-20 [commission].)
3. What is my particular calling to fulfill this command and commission using my unique personality and giftings?
